Hales Murad 

Artist & Visual Storytelling Researcher 

Hales Murad is a Yazidi artist working at the intersection of memory, identity, and lived experience. She began her engagement in community work by supporting refugee programs and later served on the board of the Yazidi Youth Association in Essen, organizing activities for Yazidi children and youth. 

She holds a degree in Art Education and is currently pursuing her master’s in Italy. 

At Nobody’s Listening, Hales uses art as a powerful tool for testimony and amplifying survivor voices, using visual storytelling to create spaces for memory, recognition, and justice, while also contributing to the planning and organization of events and initiatives. 

She has held three solo exhibitions and continues to transform personal and collective experiences into meaningful dialogue.
